The Genius of Robert Adam

As you can see from my last journal, i love architectures, especially those can represent the social background.  Thus, this time i want to do a research about a famous architect---Robert Adam.  Robert Adam was one of the greatest British neoclassical architects of the later eighteenth century. So widespread was his influence as a decorator and furniture designer that his name has become a household word.  It is the synthesis of architecture, planning, and decoration that stands at the heart of Adam’s achievement.    Adam aimed to simplify the Rococo and Baroque styles which had been fashionable in the preceding decades, to bring what he felt to be a lighter and more elegant feel to the interior.  The first picture i attached below is a small part of Adam’s accomplished interior projects.
