The information we can find from the architectural heritage


In this picture, we can see the Singapore Art Museum's main building.  Same as the National Museum, it is also an iconic architecture in Singapore.  I always attrated by this kind of low-rising oringinal buildings.  Whenever i stand in front of these old buildings, the history of the building and artistic intentions of the designer are conveyed through the details, like timber windows, louvers, sculptured patterns, pillars and interior structure.  For instance, the Art Museum, the cross on top of the dome and a big chapel inside the Art Museum, we can guess the building was built for religious purpose.  And the fact is that this venerable building once housed St Joseph's instituition,a Catholic boy's school.
